Army Medical Department Officer - 1883


Stamped 'Jan 1883' by Adams & Stilliard, Southampton
Thanks to help on the Victorian Wars Forum (link in sites of interest) I now know that this carte shows an officer in the Army Medical Department, the forerunner of the RAMC. The 'sash' he wears is actually a pouchbelt similar to the one below. His single star indicates he is Lieutenant.
